ALMI starts out armed with a passion for perfection and the many years of work experience of Tassos Mertzanidis as a chemist and of Minas Mertzanidis as a civil engineer. From modest beginnings in rented premises and with hired equipment, production during that initial period was limited exclusively to pickled Macedonian peppers.

FACILITIES ALMI moves to privately-owned facilities in Alexandria, Imathia, at a distance of approximately 55 km from the port of Thessaloniki. A large investment which, in addition to the cost of the plant and equipment, involved also a lot of personal endeavour, time and effort..

RED PEPPER Our pickled Macedonian peppers are joined by new flavours and our product range expands, meeting the needs of the market as regards not only new and equally high-quality products, but also new packaging types.

ALMITO Start of new seven-year investments in facilities and mechanical equipment. Launch of Almito in metal containers and glass jars under various product codes.

INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS ALMI continues to develop new products and gain strength through significant and long-established collaborations such as with the German Reichold Feinkost GmbH, a historic and leading company with a similar product range.
