Pepper-based dish with Macedonian Almito peppers, tomato, and feta – a Mediterranean delight bursting with rich flavor and aroma.

Ingredients you will need

  • 400g green horn peppers (8 pcs)
  • 250g Almito Greek Peperoni with Cream Cheese Mixture (2 jars)
  • 400g grated tomatoes (4 pcs)
  • 30g fresh onion, finely chopped (1 pc)
  • 50ml extra virgin olive oil (30ml for frying, 20ml for cooking)
  • 70g feta cheese (1 slice)
  • 5g garlic purée (1 clove)
  • 10g parsley, finely chopped (1 tbsp)
  • 2g dried oregano (a pinch)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Execution

  1. Fry the horn green peppers on all sides until golden.
  2. Peel them under running water to make cleaning easier.
  3. Season the grated tomatoes with salt, pepper, olive oil, and oregano.
  4. In a baking dish, spread half of the tomato mixture, then layer the peppers on top.
  5. Add the Almito Greek Peperoni with Cream Cheese Mixture and cover with the remaining tomato sauce.
  6. Sprinkle with parsley and bake for 10–15 minutes at 170°C.
  7. Serve topped with crumbled feta.

Alternatively, you can cook the dish in a pan instead of baking: simmer over low heat with the peppers half-submerged in the sauce until it thickens.
